30/06/16 HANDOVER

We finally got handover on Thursday 30th June 2016!

A lot of things still needed to be done even though we were at handover, but we didn't want to hold up getting the keys in order to get everything finished before we were in. Besides they can finish them while we are living there anyways.

Here are some photos from Move in day :)

PCI - Practical Completion Inspection

We had our PCI (Practical Completion Inspection) yesterday 20th June. Which is basically the final inspection where majority of things are supposed to be completed, but you make a final list of anything incomplete and also go through a checklist and every single room with your SS and make points of anything to be touched up, fixed or replaced before handover/settlement.

Our appointment was at 9:30 and we finished at about 12:00 noon, so it took us about 2.5 hours in total. The house is looking so great, we are just in love with all our selections and how everything is working together. Carlisle Homes have also been great!

Here is a bit of a break down of some of the things i can remember that are getting rectified before our handover/settlement date which is possibly going to be next Thursday 30th June! YIPPIE!!!

• Replace front window next to door with Translucent glass instead of Clear to match door
• Install Security System as included in the promotion (somehow got forgotten)
• Replace stolen facade light with new fixture
• Rander touch ups from Tradies
• Paint beam over garage with Stoney Creek (light grey) instead of the Namadji (Dark Grey)
• Stain touchups on the dront door and frame
• General paint touchups throughout the house
• Replace Glass Splashback (We saw it had some scratches through it)
• Replace pendant light fixtures as they are slightly wrong and also too high
• Some touchups to the grout in bathrooms
• Some bricks needing to be cleaned
• Some scratches in downpipes and gutters
• Some window frames with slight scratches
• Some downlights are falling down, need to be secured
• Bathroom light in ensuite relocated to be central to the basin
• Install handle to toilet door
• Finish painting the two sliding doors
• Replace both Garage internal doors from break-ins and paint
• Buff scratch out on stone benchtop in kitchen
• Fix wobbly wall/plaster joins in pantry and ensuite near doorway

That's all i can recall at the moment. But it's all apparently doable within the next week or so, so we are fingers crossed having a move in day of Thursday next week! :)

SITE VISIT: 13/06/16 Render \ Basins \ Carpet \ Splashback

Render colours had just gone on the front and looking nice! Unfortunately someone had walked the render through the hallway on our new floorboards. Fingers crossed the cleaner could get it off the floor? Timber still needs to be stained on the cladding and door/frames.

Mirrors/basins/splashback also all installed now and looking lovely! We are really happy with all of our selections :)

Cleaner was there when we came for a look, so everything was looking very clean and shiney but also wet! Was nice to see the floors all dust free - but keep in mind they are looking very shiney in the photos from the mopping.

SITE VISIT: 01/06/16 Timber Floors | Cladding | Garage Door | WIR/Pantry Fittout | Caulking

Went for a look at the house Wednesday on the way down to our home town and lots has happened!

Timber cladding on the facade was installed and looking beautiful. Just needs to be stained with the door now!

Also the timber look garage door was installed - equally looking lovely as well.

Timber floors are almost all finished as well. They unfortunately didn't get the memo that it needs to continue on through to the study instead of carpet, so they are going to fix that up soon apparently. Love love love how it looks though! Perfect shade and kind of gives that recycled/rustic/industrial vibe as well. Hard to tell the true colour and look from the photos though as i was locked out and taking photos through the windows and there was a bucketload of sawdust and stuff all over the benches and floor, which makes it look a bit weird in the photos (just use your imagination haha).

Side yard looking very muddy!

Facade Panorama - Timver cladding and door to be stained still and render colour to go on. Also feature light that was stolen is still not replaced.
 Feature timber cladding

Timber garage door - Looking so nice!

Up close of the garage door - Iron Bark timber look

Timber floors and pendant lights installed! Pendants are WAY too short though and are actually different to the ones we ordered, although a similar shape. Ours were black with white inside and had a little cade over the Eddisson bulb. Not the end of the world if they dont have our other ones, but i paid for and prefer ours.

Pendant lights in kitchen - Too high and wrong lights

Timber floors in living area (VERY DUSTY!)

Timber floors in Living/Kitchen/Meals area looking nice. Hoping to see how they look when they are clean. All that discolouration in the light parts is just dust!

Super high pendants. They look to be a steal/grey colour which i dont mind, but if we can get the ones i ordered i'll be happy!

SITE VISIT 29/05/16 Breakins and Lights

On my way back to Melbourne i stopped to check out the house again and saw that the door in the garage had been smashed open! Grrrrrr. After doing a loop of the outside making sure no one was still inside, i went in and checked nothing was stolen or vandalised. As far as i could see nothing was taken or damaged luckilly! But I did see that we are now missing a feature light on the facade. Unsure if that was already taken away by the SS to replace for whatever reason though.

On the plus side, i then got to take a look around inside now that the electrical is in and take some photos with the lights on as it was almost sunset/dark.

I also noticed the grout is now done on the vanity splashback tiles and lights were installed in the kitchen open niches and under the overhead cupboards. Also the bathroom screen is now installed, yay!
